IRSF Observation Report

2025/12/05

Weather
Clear sky at the beginning then from 22:30 pm cloudy sky, 
PTR 1/3, Average seeing 1 

We observed for the first 2 hours of the night, then the 
clouds came up and we could not observe anymore for the rest 
of the night. No issues during the observations.

Clear sky until 11:30 pm, when clouds got in the way. 
Observations restarted at 2:30 am, although the sky was not 
100% clear. PTR 1.5/3. Average seeing = 0.9.

We observed until 11:30 pm, then we stopped and restarted at 
around 2:30 am. We were unable to take morning flats because 
clouds were present during the civil twilight.
Some cases of shuffling were detected. 
Again, in one instance telman2 detected the telescope as

Clear sky, PTR 3/3. Average seeing = 1.5.

We observed the whole night. We found two instances in which 
the telescope was still in place but the telmon2 terminal 
showed that the telescope was still moving. In both cases, the 
observation has been interrupted for about one minute.

Clear sky but from 2:35 am humidity went up to >90%, PTR 
2/3, Average seeing 1

We observed until 2:35 am, then we had to close the mirror 
cover and dome due to high external humidity (>90%). We were 
unable to open again and to take morning flats.

Cloudy at the beginning but from 10:45 pm clear sky, PTR 
2/3, Average Seeing 1.2

I couldn't start the observations after the twilight due to 
the clouds covering all the sky. From 10:45 pm the sky was 
clear again and I observed for the rest of the night.
Some issues with the focusing of few targets, and during the 
acquisition of the morning twilight flats and dark there 
were some problems with DS9 loading times.

Observed for the whole night, no issues to report.

2025/11/29

Weather
Clear for the first part of the night, from 11:30 pm and for 
the rest of the night the external humidity was >90%. PTR 
1/3, Average seeing 1.3

I observed for the first part of the night until 11:30 pm. 
Then the external humidity increased too much exceeding 90%, 
I closed the mirror cover and dome. The humidity didn't 
change and I was unable to open again. At 04:45 am I shut 
down everything.
