2025/04/16Observer : Philip Lucas, Gabriella ZsidiWeather Good seeing, 1 to 1.2 arcsec. Clear weather until 4am when humidity went high. We observed Eta Car and numerous variable YSOs. Just before the humidity reached 85% we had a glitch with an incorrect target name so we killed messia with CTRL- back slash but when we restarted it it failed to work. We tried killing and restarting GoGoSirius but found we had no control of the telescope or dome. After 2 attempts of a full shutdown and restart, including moving the dome and telescope to park positions, we were able to restart GoGoSirius and do a Zero Search ok. In the meantime we closed the mirror cover manually since humidity was high. However we were unable to close the lower shutter by any method. ![]() 2025/04/15Observer : Philip Lucas, Gabriella ZsidiWeather Clear until 00.40 when we had to close due to high humidity. It stayed foggy after that. Seeing was about 2 arcsec. We observed Eta Car with the ND5000 filter and then 16 eruptive YSOs. We had a minor problem with the messia window that shows what is being observed (it disappeared when we accidentally moved it to a different workspace). We had to do a full shutdown and restart to bring it back. ![]() 2025/04/13Observer : Philip Lucas, Gabriella ZsidiWeather High humidity from the start of the night. No observing possible, We opened at sunset but then closed almost immediately. ![]() 2025/04/14Observer : Philip Lucas, Gabriella ZsidiWeather Clear until 11.50, then high humidity and fog. Seeing was poor initially but improved after a couple of hours to about 1.5 arcsec. We observed 20 targets (highly variable YSOs) and then closed up when humidity went too high. ![]() 2025/03/25Observer : IshibashiWeather Clear sky, piss-poor seeing from time to time. Too variable, from 1 to 3 Eta Carinae and its standard stars observed with ND5000F only. A bunch of YSOs observed for P. Lucas. The observed targets are: L195_V1, L195_V3, L195_V4, L223_5, L195_V5, L195_V8, L223_13, L195_V12, L222_s16, L195_V13, L195_V14, L222_s20, L195_V19, and L195_V22. Called for the night at 3AM. Dark for 5 and 20s taken. ![]() 2025/03/24Observer : IshibashiWeather Clear sky, but humid air. Photometric Time ratio 1/3 The sky remained clear; but the temperature dropped quickly and the humidity exceeded its limit past midnight. Shutdown the dome around 23hrs actually. Eta Carinae and its standard stars observed with ND5000F and ND5000P. I closed the shop earlier as I started seeing some unusual (but not unheard of) noisy patterns on the H-band array. Intended to let it rest for a hour or two; turned out it was rested for the remainder of the night. ![]() 2025/03/23Observer : IshibashiWeather Clear sky, photometric time ration 3/3, seeing 1 Eta Carinae and its standard stars observed throughout the night. Use ND5000F primarily; at a high altitude, use ND5000P for transit mode observation. ![]() |
